Lisa provides advice on a wide range of VAT issues to different types of businesses and their owners across various sectors. Over her career she has gained significant experience in the real estate, hotel, retail, education, international trade, government and public/charity sectors. She has also advised private sector suppliers to those organisations on a broad range of high-profile complex projects.
Lisa is a specialist in real estate and property advisory and much of her time is spent advising clients in those sectors on all VAT aspects. This includes contractual issues, VAT liability of transactions, VAT recovery matters, business/non business/partial exemption issues, outsourcing contracts, complex property transactions and planning arrangements to structure contracts in the most efficient way. Lisa is also experienced in advising in relation to acquisitions and disposals and undertaking associated VAT due diligence.
Lisa has more than 25 years’ experience of providing VAT advice. She gained her initial VAT experience with HMRC, then worked at two of the Big Four accountancy firms. This was followed by roles as a Director at Moore Stephens in London and a Senior Director at Alvarez & Marsal in London within their respective VAT teams. Lisa joined Shipleys in October 2023.
In her spare time Lisa enjoys travel, theatre and spending time with family.
