David looks after tax issues for private individuals, their unincorporated businesses and trusts, both in the UK and offshore. Many of his clients are high net worth individuals or non-UK domiciliaries, and he has a particular interest in the entertainment media and sports sectors. David's expertise includes compliance and planning covering income tax, capital gains tax and especially inheritance tax, which is a particularly specialist and important area for wealthier clients.
David became a Principal at Shipleys after working as Private Client Principal at H W Fisher & Co. He previously worked at Shipleys for a couple of years as a director and head of our Trusts & Estates department, and has held senior positions at Chantrey Vellacott DFK, Baker Tilly, Chavereys and Moore Stephens UK.
Chartered Tax Adviser
To understand the current and future goals of a client to help them plan effectively now with an eye on the future.
I’m thinking about how much I can tell.
Achieving the aims of the client and sometimes when putting others right on a point of tax law.
We have the ability to help people achieve their personal and business goals, often succeeding where general advisers have failed or concluded something is not possible. Tax has the ability to scare and confuse people, but well worded and timely advice can solve both - and is very satisfying to deliver.
